I want to be your Sheriff, Not just another Politician
Elect William "Bill" Bright for Waller County Sheriff
Candidate for Candidate for Sheriff As we approach the upcoming election, I would like for us to consider the following before casting a vote. Crime cares little for what political party one belongs to. Crime is not interested in one’s social status in the community. Crime is not interested in race or ethnic background nor does it care about what means most to us, our security and safety. With this in mind, I strongly urge county voters to elect Candidate for Sheriff Bill Bright, who will be leader and county protector against crime for the next four years. Safety for the law-abiding citizens of this county has been my primary focus since day one. I am not a politician. I am an experienced law enforcement executive with one agenda - YOU. When it comes to serving arrest warrants, criminal summonses, civil documents, or guarding the Circuit Courthouse, one’s political affiliation does not matter. We will arrest, serve, or evict anyone. Period. So instead of asking me if I am a “D” an “R” or an “I”, the only thing you need to remember is that I’m an Law Enforcement Officer. I believe in my slogan which says, “Your safety should have no price or party.” Like many of you, I have lived in this county 30 years and therefore have a personal interest in keeping us safe. I have served as Constable for Precinct 2 for four years. My staff and I have collaborated, created, and implemented many successful programs such as Neighborhood Watch, warrant round-up, ______________________ Collected 96K in warrant revenue As Candidate for Sheriff I will re-energized employees, giving them direct ownership along with accountability in their work. We have to changed the look of the agency, raised the bar in training at all ranks, equipped our deputies with pride and leadership. This career of law enforcement has always been a passion of mine, and after all these years, I It is my promise if elected as your Sheriff, I will address our drug problem, reduce the violence, remove illegal drugs from our streets, and protect our families and children from violence. I will work hard to preserve our values, and improve the quality of our lives, and make Waller County a safer place to live and raise our families. A reduction in serious crime A reduction in known gang members in Waller County Seize illegal drugs from our streets Take guns from the hands of criminals During my term, there will be a new challenges – a shrinking budget, I will meet this challenge, without cutting police services. As your Candidate for Sheriff for the next four years, the focus of my administration will remain: (1) Drugs More investigations of mid and upper level drug dealers Partnerships with Federal, State and Local authorities to expand the scope of drug investigations A renewed initiative to investigate street-level drug transactions (2) Gangs More and better intelligence to monitor gang members and their activities Partnerships with Federal, State and Local authorities to share resources and intelligence Intensify efforts to continue the downward trend of known gang members on our streets Work more closely with the community and other stakeholders to find other solutions to our gang problems Additionally, I will: Work more closely with our schools and education officials to better address the problem of bullying in our schools Dedicate more resources to fight crimes committed against our children, focusing on child sexual predators and those who exploit our children on the internet The men and women of the Waller County Candidate for Sheriff’s Office will work very hard, risking life and limb, to protect the citizens of Waller County. As your Candidate for Sheriff, it is my intent to give them the tools they need to stay safe, to keep you safe, and continue the downward trend of crime in Waller County. ******************** Under the able leadership of Candidate for Sheriff Bill Bright, will improve and excelled in many areas critical to law enforcement. However, there remain many vital issues and challenges ahead. term funding of public safety—balancing the growing needs for law enforcement services versus respecting the limits of tax dollars Acquiring and utilizing technology to fight crime—for example, incorporating global positioning system (GPS) technology, implementing radio frequency identification (RFIE), wireless access to criminal records, and enhanced communications School safety—education is a key component to a healthy community and we must assure that our schools are safe and secure for our children Substance abuse—methamphetamine use, for example, is particularly destructive and pervasive necessitating a continued coordinated effort to combat it Domestic violence—swift and meaningful intervention can prevent needless loss of life and destruction Traffic congestion and safety—as our county grows this will intensify—more effort is needed to keep our motorists and pedestrians safe Enhance collaboration and resource sharing with all levels of government in our region to maximize efficiency Continue to identify and provide state of the art police equipment to further enhance officer safety and efficiency Continue to meet and exceed industry standards
********** "I have over __ years of law enforcement experience. I'm a United States Marine Corps veteran, I've been the ___________________ of numerous ____________ organizations." My experience will play a key role in making Waller County a safer place to live. The Candidate for Sheriff's job is not a job of strictly law enforcement. You have to be an administrator and a communicator. The days of kicking doors and serving warrants for the Candidate for Sheriff himself are gone." "We're going to address the drug situation in Waller County in a more aggressive manner. I plan on implementing a streets crime unit during critical hours. The streets crime unit will work hand in hand with the investigations department and the narcotics department. Also, I will stress community policing. "The law enforcement can't do it by themselves. We have to have the help of every citizen in this county. We have 35,000 citizens, and each and everyone of them deserve to live without fear of drug dealers, sexual preadtors, theives and gang members. ******************************* As we approach the upcoming election, I would like for us to consider the following before casting a vote. Many of you may know that I have been involved with the Republican Party for more than 30 years as a supporter and contributor to the party. The conservative beliefs the party stands on are more in line with my own beliefs. However, when I think of crime and how it affects all citizens, party affiliation does not play into this particular aspect of life. Candidate for Sheriff Bill Bright is committed to creating a safer place for our community. He has served this community with integrity, honesty and the knowledge necessary to implement proven fiscal responsibility in the Candidate for Sheriff’s office. On Nov. 8, I urge my Republican, Democratic and independent friends to join forces with me in keeping our county safer and moving forward with necessary law enforcement by electing Bill Bright as Candidate for Sheriff. *******************
